We would like to invite you to join Scholars for Social Justice this Saturday for Defund the Police: A Webinar on Police, Race and Universities.

With the largest protest movement against police violence this country has seen, this webinar will examine the roots of the demand to #DefundthePolice by focusing on the relationship of police to universities and the often problematic and racist relationship of many colleges and universities to Black and marginalized communities.

YOUR ASSIGNED READINGS: Each week, you should make some use of our assigned readings in your reponse(s) to the Forum. In my weekly prompts, I may or may not mention our assigned readings directly. However, those readings most definitely provide the backdrop for our conversation, so you should take them up in some way at some point in one or more of your responses. In other words, part of what you’re doing in the Forums is demonstrating you’ve read the assigned materials. :). We’re/you’re doing more than “proving” you’ve read, of course.
